Tethys Technology, Inc. is an independent, broker-neutral provider of best execution algorithms. Its U.S. equity algorithms and program trading products were launched in 2004 and the firm was first to market with options algorithms in 2007. Tethys is an established industry leader in innovative futures algorithms and currently offers execution algorithms for the global trading of equities, options, futures and FX trading.  The firm is focused solely on achieving best execution and does no proprietary trading, hence having no conflicts of interest – nor does it operate a dark pool.

Nitin Gambhir – CEO & Head of Quantitative Research
Mr. Gambhir is the founder of Tethys Technology and Tethys Capital is an expert in global quantitative trading. His work and vision have allowed Tethys to successfully expand our product offering globally and across multiple asset classes. Mr. Gambhir is also the founder and chairman of Oceanus Securities.
Mr. Gambhir completed a Bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology before earning his Master’s from Yale University. He started his career as an Associate at JP Morgan and then joined Bear Stearns, where he was a Vice President and then a Managing Director. Thereafter, Mr. Gambhir worked as a portfolio manager at S.A.C. Capital Advisors, and founded Altus Asset Management, LLC, an institutional asset management firm, before starting his current businesses.
Mr. Gambhir is a member of the board of several charitable organizations as well as the Yale School of Management (SOM) and the Yale International Center for Finance (ICF) Advisory Board. He is passionate about charitable efforts promoting art, education and governance.

Mary Cogger – Director of Sales
Ms. Mary Cogger is the firm’s Director of Sales. She began her career as a fixed income portfolio manager at IBJ Schroder in New York. She subsequently worked with number of inter-dealer brokers in London and New York, gaining a special expertise in derivatives execution. Ms. Cogger then joined Tullet & Tokyo in New York and London, heading the firm’s Brazilian Currency Options and Russian Equity Derivatives desks. Prior to Tullet, she spent two years at RMJ Securities on the Brady Bond Option and LatAm Currency Options Desks. Ms. Cogger has also worked at Cantor Fitzgerald and Intercapital London in the emerging market derivatives groups. She holds a BS in Business Management from Boston University and an MS in Management from Boston University and L’Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.

Alexis Michaelides – Director of Production and Development
Mr. Alexis Michaelides joined Tethys Technology, Inc. in 2007 and is based in London, England where he runs the firms UK operations as well as overseeing the firm’s development teams. Prior to Tethys, Mr. Michaelides spent eight years at London & Cyprus based Easy-Broker as CIO, a firm which he co-founded. He brings more than two decades of technical and development experience to Tethys. Mr. Michaelides’ career includes developing front-end e-commerce applications for Hertz, and he has built trading solutions for brokerages in the Middle East. He holds a degree in Information Systems Engineering and an MSc in Advanced Computing, both from Imperial College in London.

Viral Zinzuwadia – Director of Development
Mr.  Zinzuwadia joined Tethys Technology, Inc. in 2010 and is based in the New York office where he leads the market data and application framework design and implementations teams. Prior to Tethys, he spent 7 years at UPS as a Software Architect consultant and developed application framework for handheld scanning devices. While at UPS, he also designed and architected in-house database application and tools tailored for UPS business. In 2003, while at Merrill Lynch, he designed and developed future symbol trading engine called TRAKER with the Chicago Exchange. He graduating from L.D. College of Engineering, in Gujarat, India with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Instrumentation and Control.

James Marvin – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Marvin joined Tethys Technology in the New York office in 2021 and became CFO in 2022. Mr. Marvin has worked in the financial service and real estate industries for over 25 years in world-class organizations such as American International Group, Deutsche Bank, Cantor Fitzgerald, Nomura Securities, and Newmark. Before joining Tethys, Mr. Marvin performed a variety of accounting and finance roles and responsibilities including CFO and Controller functions, mergers and acquisitions, and operations management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers Business School.
